CAPS 40th Anniversary
Oct 29-31st of 2021 marked the 40th annivesary of the Christian Aboriginal Parent-directed School (CAPS) since its humble beginnings in 1980.
To mark this occasion, the CAPS board planned a weekend long celebration with festivities that brought in many faces from the history of CAPS to help celebrate this incredible milestone. Guests were immerssed into the rich history of CAPS by way of testimonies, stories and the unveiling of a commisioned timeline for CAPS that begins the the days of Mount Maraget Mission all the way to 2021. The piece is installed in the MFC entrance for all to see and enjoy. The weekend had something for everyone with, musical numbers, an auction, basketball competions, book sale, tours through the old dormitory and niot to mention an incredible cake! The weekend came to a close with a combined church service with Malcolm Sercombe delivering the mesage. After the service, guest were encouraged to partake in a shared lunch and had a bit of time to catch up and have a yarn. All in all, the event was great success. CAPS board wishes to thank all who joined us for the anniversary celebration, and for your continued support.
